Bangkok, Thailand – RSI NGD Group proudly participated in the Global Classroom eSharing Activity: Innovating for Sustainability on December 12, 2024. Hosted by Sunflower Trilingual School in Thailand, this international event brought together leading schools from Thailand, the Philippines, and Taiwan, fostering collaboration and innovation among young leaders to address pressing sustainability challenges.
The program featured a keynote address by Mr. Jye Alexander Ramirez Sy, President & CEO of RSI NGD Group. As an internationally recognized leader and recipient of awards such as Asia’s Most Outstanding Inspirational Business Tycoon and Outstanding Business Innovator of the Year, Mr. Sy delivered a powerful message on integrating creativity, technology, and collaborative efforts into actionable sustainability solutions. His address inspired participants to embrace leadership roles in the society in building a sustainable future.
This groundbreaking initiative was attended by four schools, each known for their academic excellence and reputation as hubs for future leaders:
1. Sunflower Trilingual School (Thailand):
Renowned for its innovative trilingual education system, Sunflower Trilingual School served as both the host and a participant in the event. Known for fostering global-mindedness and innovation, the school exemplifies leadership in sustainable education practices.
2. Muntinlupa Science High School (Philippines):
A top-performing science high school in the Philippines, Muntinlupa Science High School is celebrated for producing exceptional students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Its participation underscored its dedication to preparing students for leadership in global and environmental challenges.
3. Kaohsiung Municipal Shoushan Junior High School (Taiwan):
This prominent school in Kaohsiung is recognized for its holistic approach to education and focus on environmental awareness, positioning itself as a leader in sustainability education in Taiwan.
4. Taichung Municipal Hui-Wen High School (Taiwan):
One of Taiwan’s most competitive high schools, Hui-Wen High School is famed for its academic rigor and strong emphasis on innovation, making it a key contributor to discussions on sustainability.
The event’s agenda emphasized innovation and collaboration, with highlights including:
1. Keynote Address by Mr. Jye Alexander Ramirez Sy:
Mr. Sy discussed the history and global trends in sustainability, emerging opportunities for innovation, and the importance of integrating technology into sustainable practices. He also shared his personal experience on how championing sustainability could lead to success in business and make a scalable impact on the world. His insights inspired participants to think critically and act decisively and responsibly on sustainability issues.
2. Student Presentations on Sustainability Practices:
Teams from each school showcased their creative and practical sustainability initiatives, presenting on themes such as waste reduction, energy conservation, and community-driven environmental projects. The initiatives were sub-categorized into home, community, and school-based projects, and were detailed for easier re-implementation.
3. Collaborative Group Discussions:
Students from different countries worked together in breakout groups to develop innovative ideas for sustainable solutions. They addressed topics such as global waste management, energy efficiency, and fostering environmental awareness among youth.
4. Awards and Recognition:
The event concluded with the presentation of awards for Best Speaker and Best Group Presentation. The recognition celebrated creativity, clarity, and the potential impact of the students’ proposals, further encouraging them to pursue leadership in sustainability. Mr. Sy has praised the participants' exemplary projects and way of presentation during the event.
